Video: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines

In this video we will practice examples for working with parallel and perpendicular lines We will define parallel and perpendicular lines, find the slope of parallel and perpendicular lines, write the equation of parallel and perpendicular lines, and find parallel and perpendicular lines of horizontal and vertical lines.

Video: Writing the Equation of a Line

In this video we will practice examples for writing linear equations in two variables. The video is broken in 4 sections: writing the equation of a line given the slope and y-intercept, given the slope and a point, given two points, and writing equations of horizontal and vertical lines. In addition, each section will show examples on writing the equation in slope-intercept and standard form, as well as obtaining the information from a graph.

Video: Graphing Linear Equations in Two Variables

In this video we graph linear equations in two variables. The video is broken down in five sections: graphing equations by plotting points, finding the x- and y-intercept, using the slope and y-intercept, and graphing vertical and horizontal lines. The last section will contain my recommendation as to which method to use depending on the equation given.

Video: Finding Slope from Graphs, Points, and Equations

In this video we define slope and practice examples finding slope. The video is broken down into four sections: defining slope, finding slope given a graph, finding slope given two points, and finding slope given an equations.

Video: The Coordinate System: Plotting Points

In this video we define the coordinate system, practice examples for plotting points, finding the coordinates of a point, and using points to graph linear equations in two variables.

Video: Solving Linear Equations with Fractions and Using a ti-calculator

In this video we will practice examples on solving linear equations with fractions with and without finding the Lowest Common Denominator, LCD. The last section shows the steps for using a ti-83/84 calculator to solve linear equations.

Video: Solving Linear Equations with Variables on Both Sides

In this video we will practice examples for solving linear equations with constants and variables on both sides of the equal sign, combining like terms, and eliminating parentheses. We will also review the three types of solutions: one solution, no solution, infinitely many solutions.

Video: Solving Linear Equations with Multiplication and Division

In this video we will define and practice examples for solving linear equations with multiplication and division. We will continue to use properties of algebra to help us solve the equations, as well as combine like terms.

Video: Solving Linear Equations with Addition and Subtraction

In this video we will define and practice examples for solving linear equations with addition and subtraction. We will use properties of algebra to help us solve the equations, as well as combine like terms.

Video: Properties of Algebra

In this video we will define and practice examples of properties of algebra in algebraic expression. The properties covered will be the commutative property, the associative property, the reciprocal, the inverse, the identity, and the distributive property.

Video: Define and Evaluate Algebraic Expressions and Combine Like Terms

In this video we will define algebraic expressions and practice examples of combining like terms and evaluating algebraic expressions.

Update: Question 4b should read

 4m + 2n, for m = -2, n = -5.

Video: Proper, Improper, and Mixed Number (Fractions)

In this video we will define three different types of fractions and do converting examples. The last sections on this video show you the steps for a basic 4-function calculator and a ti-83/84 calculator.

In this video we will do examples for multiplication and division of fractions. The last sections on this video show you the steps for a basic 4-function and ti-83/84 calculator.

Video: Add/Subtract Fractions with Different Denominators

In this video we will do examples for adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators. We will use three different methods: prime factorization, multiplication table, and cross multiplication. We will then decide which method is the fastest based on the expression we are given. The last sections on this video show you the steps for a basic 4-function and a ti-83/84 calculator.
